I love taking pictures of people... I absolutely love it! Because of this i really want them to be comfortable in every shoot I do as I want them to 'give me something' of themselves. The success of a great portrait depends on the collaboration between photographer and 'the person!' That doesn't mean that they will always like the finished image though!

Each shoot has a very informal, 'anything goes' approach... much of this is achieved by simply talking to each other so we both know what it is we're trying to achieve. The rest is usually me trying to get the person to let their guard down... to create the 'decisive moment.'

I just try and follow a gut instinct and go for it...  You realise very quickly whether of not you are good at getting people to 'give it up' - That which makes for a great image!  They are often unguarded and unplanned.
